TheChurchDirectory

A directory of Christian blogs sponsored by

Christian churches often publish directories listing contact information of their members as a tool for building fellowship within a congregation. Such books offer a way for new members to get to know others in the church and to establish connections with other Christians. In a similar manner, the Church Directory is a modest project to cultivate relationships within the Christian blogging community by maintaining a blogroll of sites produced by believers. The only requirement for joining is to be an orthodox Christian (i.e., someone who holds to the basics of the faith) and have a blog.

To participate in this project, simply follow these three steps:

Step #1 – Add your blog

To add your blog to the Church Directory simply fill out the CD Entry Form.Your blog should be added within 1-5 days.

Step #2 – Add the CD blogroll to your blog

The blogroll provides a random list of the Church Directory member blogs and is available in four ways, based on the number of links you want to display (10, 20, 40, or all). To add the blogroll to your site, simply cut and paste the script below into the HTML code of your blog.

Step #3 – Use the blogroll to get to know other Christian bloggers.

One of the great low-church traditions is when we take time during a Sunday morning service to greet our neighbors. Whether we’re introducing ourselves to first time visitors or simply acknowledging old friends, we take the time to remind each other that the church isn’t the building we are in but the person who is sitting beside us in the pew. Let's adopt that tradition in the blogosphere. When you see an unfamiliar blog on the blogroll, click through and get to know the person on the other end.
